Klevabrick is both a Conventional and Innovative Building Technology system at the same time. Klevabrick’s differs from other products and building systems by eliminating the need for skilled labour.

The conventional age-old process of placing brick/block upon brick/block using mortar as the glue is the same as placing Klevabrick upon Klevabrick. However, Klevabrick requires no mortar as the Klevabricks are bolted together.

There is the option to use standard plaster and paint on the exterior of Klevabrick buildings and is applicable to all classes of buildings

This is achieved by ordering the flat face exterior Klevabrick which is used in the same manner as standard Klevabricks but can be plastered

RDP Housing

The Klevabrick Building System is technically and socially the best possible solution for the construction of RDP houses.
Apart from the option of coated steel premade trusses and battens, windows etc. there are no off-site manufacture or machine-made parts ( bricks ) used in a Klevabrick building. In short apart from the roof, roof tiles, windows & doors – all are local labour.

It provides the only internally steel-reinforced concrete wall building system that does not require a concrete frame for multi-storey construction and can be made on-site by the local beneficiaries and population.

The technical benefits are

When all the KIevabricks are bolted into the walls & the first course into the raft floor slab the reinforcing forms a steel cage in the walls around the building and reduces the risk of any movement or wall cracks to zero.

The exterior Klevabricks are cast-off shutter from a urethane lined laser cut steel mould. This together with the use of a coloured oxide to the concrete mix – produces a smooth no paint and a maintenance-free surface.

As an option – oxide can be added to the internal grout/plaster which when floated finished – will also give a permanent smooth coloured finish which will require no paint or maintenance. The chamfered front profile of the exterior Klevabricks forces rainwater off the wall at every course – thereby removing the need for cavity walls in the wettest areas The steel roof structure results in a fire-resistant building.
