How To Build with Klevabrick

A new approach to the traditional practice of building construction
The construction of a Klevabrick building follows the traditional building method for normal bricks.

There is therefore nothing new for people to learn. The only difference is that the adjacent blocks are bolted together rather than by the use of mortar.

The Klevabricks are cast in laser cut steel precision moulds to an accuracy of 0.25mm.

The de-moulded Klevabricks fit together perfectly.

Adjacent Klevabricks are then bolted together by use of an 8mm galvanized bolt and a 13mm spanner.

This makes building possible for semi-skilled or unskilled labour, under the control of a few experienced people.

Only a standard nut and bolt and a 13mm spanner is needed to bolt the Klevabricks together

Embedded Conduits – No Chasing

Specific Klevabricks are cast with 2 x 20mm p.v.c. electrical imbedded conduits

1. Bolted Connections
2. 100mm x 20mm deep groves forms a plaster plug to prevent gas and moisture penetration
3. 100mm x 100mm electrical box, this can also be used as a water point with 15mm pipes
4. These electrical and water points can be placed anywhere according to requirements
5. All conduits line up because of the unique design of the Klevabricks

Plaster Finish – No Maintenance

Klevabricks can be cast with any colour oxide for different brick colours

Exterior Shiplap Profile with Oxide

1. Standard roof structure bolted to the top course
2. Exterior shiplap profile
3. Plaster finish and oxide gives a paint free and maintenance free surface

Interior Face of Klevabrick Wall

Coloured plaster grout to match the Klevabrick is used to fill recesses and also applied over the interior wall surface, smoothed off and floated/ rendered resulting in a no paint maintenance-free finish
1. Slots for beam and block suspended flooring system for a multi-storey building
2. 100mm x 20mm deep groves forms a plaster plug to prevent gas and moisture penetration

4. Klevabricks self-support over windows and doors = NO LINTELS

Interior Klevabrick Wall – Flat on both sides

1. Pre-cast holes where interior walls attached using 10mm sleeve anchors
2. Industry standard door frame – grouted into position

4. The down stand bolts of the interior Klevabricks are cast into the floor slab on their length. The wall is therefore stable and can be built as a free-standing wall without column support

Reinforcing

GALVANIZED REINFORCING – Galvanised 5,6mm Hard Drawn Steel

  • The first course of Klevabrick bolts are extended into the foundation to bolt the walls into the raft floor slab
  • The top course of Klevabricks are bolted to the roof
  • The adjacent Klevabricks are bolted to each other
  • All of the above creates a wire cage bolted from floor to ceiling
    • Horizontal bolted reinforcing
    • Vertical reinforcing extending to the roof
  • This reinforcing resists any lateral movement preventing cracks in walls
  • This is totally unique and is not found in any other method of building
RAFT FOUNDATION TO ENG. DESIGN

KLEVABRICKS SET ON FOOT SHOES – FLOOR SLAB CASTING

1. The Klevabrick first course is bolted into the raft foundation slab
2. Floor slab (175mm 25mpa) with 1 x 245 mesh, with 800mm Y12 reinforcing lengths to outside plinth concrete 120mm
3. For poor soil conditions slab thickness – 200mm & 2 x 245 mesh
4. Sewer and other waste water pipes are easily cast into floor slab
